EmberHalt

About EmberHalt

Intelligence behind
every deployment.

We built EmberHalt around a central question: when will water do the most good? Our working prototype combines real-time fire modeling, local sensing, and water delivery to address that question.

Our story

Four cabins.
A personal reason to act.

EmberHalt began with the four cabins our dad, Paul Scott, built in the White River area. Those places gave us a personal reason to tackle wildfire preparedness: protecting something our family had spent years building.

We bring forestry, wildfire experience, fluid dynamics, and scientific work to that challenge. Our focus is practical: understand the conditions, model the threat, and deploy water when it matters most.

The people behind EmberHalt

Field experience.
Scientific thinking.

Our backgrounds connect the behavior of wildfires, the movement of water, and the work of building and operating a business.

Founder & CEO

Craig Scott

Craig holds a degree in forestry and spent years working wildfires. He brings that field experience to EmberHalt’s leadership, connecting an understanding of forests and fire with the company’s approach to property protection.

Founder & Chief Commercial Officer

Ryan Scott

Ryan worked as a research scientist for 15 years before co-founding EmberHalt. As Chief Commercial Officer, he brings a scientific approach to customer relationships and commercial strategy: ask clear questions, evaluate the evidence, and turn what the team learns into practical action.

Scientific background & inspiration

Paul Scott

Paul brings a background in chemical engineering and fluid dynamics, along with decades of scientific work. The four cabins he built in the White River area sparked his sons’ motivation to create EmberHalt and put that combined experience to work.

Working prototype

From a working system to launch.

We have a working prototype and are preparing our launch across Washington State, northeastern Oregon, and western Idaho. We are refining performance and developing the installation and ongoing-service experience.

We will share installation schedules, specifications, and pricing as the launch offering takes shape.

Our distinction

Timing is a core capability.

Sprinklers deliver water. EmberHalt connects water delivery to an informed decision about when to act. We use advanced, real-time fire modeling with local and public data to guide deployment as conditions change.

When you compare systems, ask what informs activation, how local conditions affect the decision, and how available water shapes operation. Those questions sit at the center of our design.

Common questions

Get to know EmberHalt.

What sets EmberHalt apart?

Our focus is intelligent water timing. We combine advanced, real-time fire modeling with local sensing and public data to guide when to deploy water around a property.

Do you have a working system?

Yes. We have a working prototype. We continue to refine the system and evaluate performance as we prepare for launch.

Where will you launch?

Our launch will include Washington State, northeastern Oregon, and western Idaho. Property suitability and installation scheduling will determine when we can serve individual locations.

What information informs water deployment?

Local measurements such as humidity, ground moisture, and wind speed combine with public weather and fire information to inform real-time fire modeling. Equipment and sensor configurations depend on the site.

Can I order a system today?

We are preparing our launch. This website does not yet accept orders or installation bookings; we will publish scheduling and pricing as those arrangements are ready.

Does EmberHalt guarantee protection?

No. Wildfire conditions and equipment limits affect every system. Use EmberHalt alongside home hardening, vegetation management, and evacuation planning. Never delay evacuation to operate equipment.

What happens if power or internet service fails?

We evaluate outage behavior as part of system testing. Backup arrangements and local operation depend on equipment and site design; we will specify those limits for each installation.

How much will a system cost?

We will publish pricing with the launch offering. Water storage, equipment, site access, installation work, and ongoing service affect each property’s scope.
